There are times in our lives when hopes and dreams seem to shatter on the ground. When actions of another, seem to cause turmoil in our lives where we don't know if we have the strength to overcome. There are times, when our own action cause what we have worked towards to slip away from our fingertips.
Whether it be another or ourselves, forgiveness is essential in order to move forward with our lives. Forgiveness doesn't mean we condone the act. When we are able to forgive, we break the chains that bind us to the harm or disappointment which occurred. Until we can forgive, our minds are trapped in reliving the experience.
Viewing time in a new perspective, is essential to healing. What appears at this moment to last forever, in a lifetime the experience is a small fraction of our life journey. The pain of yesterday, building the strength we have today. The pains of today, building the strength we will have tomorrow and beyond.
Forgiveness isn't easy. It takes a lot of deep introspective and time to work through the healing. We have to be open to look at the experience in different perspectives and strive to see it in another's point of view. We have to be able to take responsibility for our choices and behaviors, and leave the responsibility of another's choices and behaviors with them. The 'could of,' 'should of,' 'would of' will not change the outcome of what has occurred, it will only delay our healing.
By not allowing our pass, delay or harm our future, it isn't a matter of if... but when we will align with what we desire. It will occur, when we maintain our commitment to continue to take daily action towards what we desire in our lives. Setting goals, improving on skills, being compassionate, and showing patience in the process are stepping stones in the journey of life.
