Success is a choice. When we focus on the outcome of success, rather than the fear of failure, we choose to succeed by our actions.

Hidden Treasures - Day Nineteen

When you love what you do, the long grueling hours merge into a normal pattern of commitment. We understand this is what is needed, and will not always be the norm. There are days when things flow in place and days when every act is a struggle. Still, we power through as our self-motivation powers on.

Life was never meant to be easy. It was meant to provide us experience to help guide us into defining who we are and who we are not. In a society which has been raised on solutions magically appearing in a thirty-minute window, in between a myriad of commercials promoting how to make it so you have a life filled with ease; the concept of struggle has been refuted by many.

Yet, those who choose to embrace the natural struggles in life, find a new dimension of meaning to life. One who can amongst the struggles and challenges, find gratitude for their life, has risen to a higher understanding and awakened the ember within. The hidden flame of determination to overcome, knowing the strength of today was built upon the challenges which were overcome yesterday.

It is then, a level of strength is gained, which many will not understand. For those who do, you can see it in their eyes, and a smile will cross your face as you nod to each other in understanding, though no words have been spoken.

Today, let us find gratitude for the situations and individuals who helped us to gain the strength we have today. Let us be grateful for the patience we have gained, through having to practice patience. Let us find solace in the person we face in the mirror as we look into our own eyes, smile and nod in understanding. A merging of time, the past, present, and future all nod in understanding and give comfort and appreciation, to the journey which has and will be traveled.

Leaf going into the fall stage of life.

Wild berries withering on a fall branch.

Fall leaf curled up in a shape of a heart.

As we reflect upon our success, daily we will explore our commitment to ourselves and what the goals we set. Taking time to write down what went wrong, what was a struggle, and what was a complete failure will help us to gain insight on how to overcome the times, when we struggle and fail to keep the commitments to ourselves.
Focusing on our internal commitments, will strengthen the external commitments we make to others.
