Creating a work/life balance begins with enjoying what takes up the majority of your time and thoughts. What are the first thoughts that come to mind, upon awakening in the morning? What are the final thoughts, when retiring to bed at night? What are thoughts in the moments in between?
Let's at least admit it to ourselves, our mind is often filled with thoughts of reflection. Do we guide those thoughts or do we let them have full reign at will?
Thoughts are powerful and addictive. They can be a positive or a negative addiction in our life, which can help propel us forward or cause us to decline.
If angry thoughts release adrenaline, we can become addicted to that rush. Like any junkie, it requires more and more, to maintain the same level of adrenaline pumping through our veins.
Peace can also be addictive. When one has refined their ability to have tranquility in their life, they will take great measures to maintain that emotional state. As we continue to develop our self-discipline and motivation, we refine how we will allow our thoughts to help create the emotions and feelings we desire to have in our life.
Today, let's reflect on how we allow our thoughts to feed our addictions in life, and if it is in the direction we desire to go.
