Today we are going to reflect on how we can let go of what was and appreciate what is. There are times in our lives, when hopes and dreams of the past, have to be the source of insight gain for future hopes and dreams. Does that mean we are giving up? No. It means we have gained new insight which has required us to refine and define new plans, built upon previous ones.
Think of it like a remodeling project.
Nature is a beautiful example of letting go, knowing there is beauty in every season of life. All of our whining, crying, and complaining can not stop this natural occurrence. It is in the moment we accept the evolution of growth, we begin to live.
We are rarely in control over external circumstances in our lives, which occur due to choices and actions of others; but, we are always in control over our emotional response to life. We are always in control over our internal thoughts... if we develop self-discipline and self-motivation.
Our greatest challenge, is determining where we will choose to place our perspective. Will we choose to point outwardly and blame, or choose to point inwardly and maintain? Will we maintain our peace, so we have the mental capability and strength to look for solutions and alternatives, to the obstacles and challenges which come our way?
Take a moment today and reflect on where your perspective tends to take you. Do you focus more on loss, or on the opportunity of what can be gained?
