Let's get real for a moment. We all have a bit of crazy in us. We all have our idiosyncrasies which can drive other nuts about us, and can even at times drive ourselves nuts. There are times in our lives, when being a bit crazy and taking risks and chances might be what we need. It is those times, when we need to get out of our comfort zone and do something, which causes many... including ourselves to shake our heads in disbelief.
Unless we are willing to step outside of our comfort zone, we will never be able to fully step forward and discover our potential. Breaking out of the status quo and expectations of other, can be especially difficult for those who have come from a home were severe discipline was received if one didn't conform. We are finding more examples of this toxic behavior of control throughout our society. The question we must ask ourselves, is if those striving to control conformity are helping us propel forward or setting us back. It is when we recognize the motives behind the control, hope is restored.
Hope is often born long in the midst of the greatest challenges in our lives. It is when things seem the darkest, we gain the strength to shine a bit of hope for us as well as for others. We acknowledge there is much outside of our control, but we also acknowledge our strength to continue to take one step forward, even if that one step is more like one crawl forward.
During these times, we must remember to celebrate our strength. To recall and celebrate our accomplishments. To celebrate what lessons were learned in our failures, and how we applied them to overcome. Without hope, we can become lost.
Hope... those born in hope are those who have been in the depths of darkness and continued taking daily action to find their way out. Let us all hold on to the light of hope and share it with others.
