Since we spend so much time with ourselves, do we take the time to get to know who we are? Have we learned how to enjoy life with ourselves and not have to be dependent upon another to find joy in life?
While many may find these questions odd, I challenge you to take a moment and reflect on the answers you would state. This isn't about learning how to become isolated in the world, but instead it is learning how to become more engaged, by first understanding ourselves.
We all have idiosyncrasies. We all need to show patience and have other show patience to us. If our own idiosyncrasies cause us to learn patience with ourselves, that may be an area we need to work on... the idiosyncrasy or our patience.
If we struggle to show kindness and compassion with ourselves, how can we show it to others? Taking the time to sit in silence and explore the depths of your thoughts and mind, can be a powerful spiritual journey into understanding the depth of your nuances which make us the person we are. By understanding the why's of our thoughts and behavior, we can explore options to enhance or to correct.
While we all have regrets in our lives, it is in these silent moments, regrets can become insight and learning opportunities. If a choice or behavior causes regret, explore what was learned and how this past event impacted your life. By taking time to reflect and understand the emotional response of that moment, regrets can dissolve into gratitude. Our inexperience may have lead to poor choices or decisions, but the experience benefited us by giving us knowledge and insight to avoid future regrets.
Let's take the time to spend with ourselves, our thoughts, and our emotions. Let's take the time to understand ourselves. Until we do, we may struggle to be able to understand another. Understanding the relationship we have with ourselves, helps to improve the relationship we have with others.

Focus on becoming complete. Align with someone who is complete and you both can handle each other's idiosyncrasies.
Sometimes you need to just be silent and listen to your own thoughts. Until you understand you, you'll struggle to express yourself.
Never underestimate the power of the moment. That moment in time can never be recovered. Live without regret.
