Throughout our journey in life, too often we tend to search outside of ourselves to fill the emptiness within. We search for things to give us joy. These emotional responses, when attached to something physical will be fleeting moments. Those who take the time, to explore within, find everlasting joy and peace.
The challenge with searching outside of ourselves, and even a danger when we search within, is when we compare ourselves to others. When we measure our value and worth off another's perspective, we will always be left disappointed. How we internalize our value, is built through introspection of our improvement.
We are not in competition with another, but in competition with ourselves. Are we better today, than we were yesterday? Are we taking action today, to help us be a better person tomorrow?
We may not be the smartest, we may not be the most beautiful, but we can be the most successful... when we measure our success with our own accomplishments, rather than compare them with another's.
The greatest success we can achieve, is having healthy relationships... beginning with ourselves. Every relationship with have with another, is an extension of the relationship we have with ourselves. If we are impatient with others, we are most likely struggling with having patient with ourselves.
To work on strengthening our relationships, we must first work to strengthen the relationship we have with ourselves. It begin with our thoughts. How do we speak to ourselves, with our inner thoughts?
Today, let's reflect on where we seek to find happiness. Let's evaluate what action we need to take today, to help guide our path to peace and joy.
