Completion vs perfections. One is achievable and the other is in a constant state of evolution. Perfection is a state of perspective which evolves as one continues to gain more insight and skills. It is a never ending pursuit, as the goal post is constantly moving. Why then do we put so much effort in finding perfection?
Compatibility is the key to feeling complete. When we find compatibility with what we are striving to achieve, there is a sense of contentment. We find joy and happiness in achieving what we have pursued. There is an elation and euphoria of achievement.
We are all natural adventurers in life. We are all addicts to the emotional response of elation and euphoria. We thrive on the thrill of feeling the natural high of accomplishment. Once we have achieved and feel a completeness, we start to look for the next area. Our vision is forever scanning the horizon to find the next destination and adventure.
For many of us, being content can make us feel restless, as if we are missing out on something unforeseen. Yet, can the next adventure be within the grasp of what we currently hold in our heart and hand? Can the next adventure be to build upon what we have already accomplished and found such joy and happiness in? Can we take what we have accomplished to the next level?
Today, let's reflect on our addiction to the adrenaline rush we have when we are in pursuit. Let's reflect on how we can fill our need for excitement, by building upon what we have accomplished, rather than looking for the next adrenaline boosting adventure.
