If you ever want to appreciate the beauty of imperfections, place a macro lens on your camera and go explore nature. Your perspective will be permanently changed. Hidden Treasures is about reflecting on your perspective about success, for yourself and how you look at others.
When 'success' becomes narrow minded, we do our society a tremendous disservice. This month we strive to broaden on definition of success. It begins within. Our perspective and definition of success plays an instrumental part in our self-talk, when things don't go as planned. Do we have the self-discipline to find success in our failures and setbacks? If lessons were learned, which helped us to find better ways to overcome, were these experiences successful?
Life only guarantees experience. When we look back upon the experiences of life, we are where we are in our life because of them. We may not be where we want to be, but our journey isn't over yet. There are times, when we can meet our agenda and timeline, and times when unforeseeable circumstances arises which causes our timeline to be adjusted. In these moments, the greatest challenge for us will be to maintain our focus on the end goal and not on the calendar.
While it is important when establishing goals, to have a complete date in mind, we must be cautious to not fall into the trap of beating ourselves up, hating life, or getting depressed if we miss our set date. It is in these times, great value can be learned to better our chances of maintaining our momentum in the future, when challenges and obstacles arise.
