When life gets crazy and is filled with chaos, that is when our emotional response to life, gets put to the test. If we will step back for a moment, and reflect on the situation, we most often will find that much of our stress is coming from how we are processing the information around us. It is coming from our feeling unable to control the situation.
The question we must ask ourselves, 'Now what?' A choice is now to be made. Do we continue done the thought patterns, which are disabling us, or do we calm our mind so we can find solutions to the problems? A mind that is filled with fear and anxiety, will struggle to find solutions. The reason is, it is too busy writing a wide array of doom and gloom scripts, to be able to come up with possibilities which don't end is ultimate catastrophe. Let's get real... we all have had those moments.
This is the time we become our own ultimate fiction writer and screen writer. We envision all the drama that would make the situation a best seller. We are the writer, director, producer, and actor of the play we are writing in our mind. Instead of shouting, 'Action!' We should be shouting, 'Cut!'
Living in a time where information is available at our fingertips, from all around the world, and where drama and chaos get the most clicks and comments; there is an endless source of writing material to gain inspiration for our own script being written in our mind. The difference, is one is based on fact and the other is based on fiction.
Today, let's step back and take some time to find the good which is in abundance around us. Let's analyze what resources we are filling our time and mind with. Maybe we need to make adjustments to what we mentally consume.
Let's consider putting our phones down and watch a sunrise or sunset. When was the last time we looked up and watched the clouds? Can we recall when we star gazed and thought about all the possibilities in the universe? When was the last time we allowed ourselves to dream and have hope for a brighter future?
We can go down the negative, 'It's never going to happen,' to save ourselves the pain of disappointment; or we can allow ourselves to remember what it was like to be free to dream. To take a few moments and just let our mind believe, knowing we our emotionally mature enough to realize that the beauty of dreaming and believing, is in embracing the journey in which you begin to travel upon. The experience of twists and turns, ups and downs, is out of this world.
