Success is a choice. When we focus on the outcome of success, rather than the fear of failure, we choose to succeed by our actions.

Rip and Real - Day Thirty

The idea that life was meant to be easy was planted in our heads through fiction and fantasy. Think about it. Was it easy to learn how to walk, tie our shoe, or ride a bike? Did we get bruises and bumps along the way, as we learned? Did we get frustrated? What about learning how to talk? How many temper tantrums did we throw because adults couldn't understand what we wanted them to do to make our lives easier?

At a young age, we figured out that if we wanted to obtain what we desired it was up to us to figure out how to get it. How many hours did we put in learning to walk so we could go where we wanted to go? How many hours did we put in learning to tie our shoe so we could go outside to play? How many hours did we put in learning to ride a bike, roller skate, play sports, or the numerous other things we did as a child so we could enjoy life? It didn't just poof and happen when we wanted it to. It took grueling long hours to achieve these skills which we no longer have to think about to do. Where did that confidence, drive, and determination go? Maybe it is time to get it back.

What once was hard, becomes easy with time and practice. We are always evolving in life. There will always be another mountain to climb. We will always be in a state of struggling to learn something new. From the moment we came into this world, to the moment we take our last breath there will be something new to learn. Something new which will test our commitment, drive, and determination to figure it out to better our lives.

As we close Rip and Real, we have spent thirty days getting real with ourselves. We have removed the mask of our face and taken a good long hard look in the mirror. We have challenges our current perspective about life and how we interact with it. Tomorrow is a new day. A new opportunity for us to step up to the mirror, look ourselves in the eye and ask ourselves, "What will you do today, to make a better tomorrow?"

Let's begin with love. Let's take the time to learn how to better love ourselves, so we can extend love out to others. Let's commit to spreading love throughout the world, instead of hate. It won't be easy at times. There will be moments we want to give up. There will be moments of frustration and discouragement.

But... we have a history of proving to ourselves our ability to keep working at learning a new skill. Learning to love, will be a skill which we will continue to evolve till our last breath. The choice is ours to make. Will we take one step forward to making tomorrow better than today?
