Shhhhh.... listen.... to learn. Do we realize how often we listen and as we are doing so, our brain go into hyperdrive plotting out our response? There is a true art to listening to learn. To learn another person's point of view. We may not agree with their point of view, but by listening we gain valuable insight into the mindset. Have we ever thought to ourselves, "I wonder when the last time, this person had anyone just shut up and listen to them?"
Today, let's reflect on our listening skills. Not only with how we listen to when other individuals are talking to us, but also how we listen to ourselves. Fine tuning our listening skills, also means fine tuning our ability to listen to what our body and mind is trying to share with us. Do we just ignore our body when it is saying, "I'm tired!" Do we ignore our mind, when it is saying, "WOW! Look up at that incredible sunrise."
How about listening to our intuition? When is the last time we've listened to the wind blow through the trees or the song of a bird? Can we hear the whispers in the wind? The subtle reminders of this earth filled with life and joy?
There are so many ways we can refine our listening skills both internally and externally. Let's take a moment today, and just listen.
